The Role

To support the Conference and Events Operations Manager with the day-to-day efficient operation of The Eastside Rooms venue. Reporting into the Conference and Events Manager, you will be able to demonstrate strong leadership and guidance to your operational team members whilst providing an excellent standard of hospitality to all our guests.

The Person

  • 2+ years experience within a similar role
  • Previous experience of working in a high volume events operation, with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an ability to manage a team by coaching, developing and motivating others. Experience of developing teams to their full potential.
  • A strong, ambitious individual, looking for a challenge, driven by 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Operational experience in a variety of concepts including banqueting, events and conferences.
  • Commercially driven to help achieve targets and budgets.
  • Exemplary Communication Skills.
  • Creative team builder & leader.

Key Responsibilities will be to:

  • Support with the management of day to day activities for the Conference and Events venue.
  • Deputise for the Conference and Events Operations Manager in their absence.
  • Support the Conference and Events Operations Manager with the Leadership and Development of the Operations team.
  • Lead the Conference and Events Operations Team in setting up and running large-scale events.
  • Actively promote hotel in order to generate business with both new and existing clients.
  • Ensure knowledge of local market including attractions, direct competitors & venues and is current and up to date.
  • Liaise and communicate with other departments.
  • Supports the Conference and Events Operations Manager and Executive Chef with the pricing and preparation of banquet menus, and beverages and wine lists.
  • Coordinates with suppliers / in house stores for special purchasing requirements relating to the Banqueting Department
  • Attends and contributes to the weekly hotel department head and food and beverage department meetings
  • Complete Departmental tasks such as weekly rota, employee training and recruitment.
