What attracted you to the role at the eastside rooms?
I have a passion for HR in the hospitality industry and I have always wanted to take part in an opening project. The Aloft & Eastside Rooms is going to be an amazing addition to our City and I am so excited to be involved.
What does your day to day work life involve?
As HR is all about people, my day to day work life is concerned with making sure we have everything in place to be a great place to work. I interact with every department of the hotel and events centre and so my role is very varied. One day I may be working on training and development and the next may be recruitment or community engagement.
What is the favourite part of your role?
The favourite part of my role is helping to develop talent.
How did you get into the hospitality industry?
After college I went to work as a F&B assistant for Crowne Plaza before becoming F&B Supervisor. I really enjoyed the ‘people’ side of the job such as training, recruitment and payroll and so that is how I discovered HR.
If you had your own talk show, who would be your first three guests?
JK Rowling, Leonardo Dicaprio and Beyonce.
If you could live in any TV show, which one would it be?
Friends.
If you can instantly become an expert in something what would it be?
Speaking another language or playing Tennis.
If you could eliminate one thing from your daily routine what would it be and why?
Sitting in traffic because nobody likes traffic 😊
