What attracted you to the role at The Eastside Rooms?

Having worked in the hospitality industry for over 27 years, I was looking for a new challenge. The eastside rooms is a very exciting opportunity to work as part of a pre-opening team where my skills and experience could be fully utilised.

What does your day to day work life involve?

Supporting the team in everything financial from purchases to payroll and managing the day to day pre-opening expenses. Writing financial policies and procedures for the hotel to ensure the smooth running of each department.

What is the favourite part of your role?

Being able to share my vast experience with the team.

How did you get into the hospitality industry?

Purely by accident, I followed my friend to get details for a new hotel opening in New Kingston, Jamaica – the Wyndham New Kingston. I ended up applying for a role myself and I never looked back, I have loved every minute of since.

If you had your own talk show, who would be your first three guests?

Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama and Denzel Washington.

If you can instantly become an expert in something what would it be?

Sign language.

If you could eliminate one thing from your daily routine what would it be and why?

Driving, a 20-minute drive can easily take up an hour!
